Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of Vantid. By installing or using the app, you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use it.

1. About Vantid

Vantid is a personal-finance and portfolio-tracking desktop application operated by Technotroupe LLP, a Limited Liability Partnership registered in India (GSTIN 33AAZFT2363G1ZT), with its registered office at S.F.NO 688/1A1A2C, Madukkarai Road, Kurichi, Eachanari, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu 641021, India. We refer to ourselves as "Vantid," "we," "our," or "us"; to you as "you."

Vantid is a record-keeping, analytics, and visualization tool. We do not execute trades, move money, or place orders on your behalf. Read-only access to your brokerage and bank accounts is available through the integrations described in §6.

2. License

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use Vantid on devices you own or control, subject to these Terms. The license covers personal, non-commercial use.

You may not:

• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app except as permitted by law;
• Resell, sublicense, or commercially redistribute the app;
• Use the app to violate any law, infringe any right, or harm anyone;
• Probe, scan, or attempt to breach the security of our infrastructure;
• Use automated means to scrape or extract data from our services beyond what the documented APIs allow.

3. Beta status

Vantid is currently in beta. That means:

• Features may change, regress, or disappear.
• The app may have bugs that cause data loss; back up your data regularly.
• We may pause, restart, or reset beta services without notice.
• We make no service-level commitments during beta.

Once the beta ends, we'll introduce a paid subscription. Existing beta users will get advance notice and a fair transition path.

4. Your account and your data

To use sync or related features, you sign in with a Google account. You're responsible for keeping that account secure.

Your portfolio data is yours. We don't claim ownership of it. The local database on your device belongs to you and can be exported at any time from inside the app.

If you turn on sync, you grant us a limited license to store and transmit your encrypted sync data solely to provide the sync feature. We can't read it. We don't analyze it. The license terminates when you disable sync or delete your account.

5. Not financial advice

You are solely responsible for your investment decisions. We strongly recommend you verify any number, consult a qualified professional before acting, and remember that past performance does not predict future results.

If the AI chat surfaces frameworks, rules of thumb, or commentary, treat them as informational starting points — not personalized advice.

6. Market data, brokerage connections, and third-party services

Vantid is built on top of several third-party services that you can opt into. Each of them is governed by its own terms and privacy policy in addition to ours, and we are not responsible for them.

6.1 Market data

The app fetches market data from third-party providers (e.g., Yahoo Finance via our proxy, MarketStack for end-of-day data, exchange feeds). This data:

• May be delayed, incomplete, or inaccurate;
• Is provided by third parties under their own terms;
• May become unavailable without notice.

We do our best to keep it flowing, but we don't guarantee its accuracy or availability. Do not rely on it for trading or any decision that can't tolerate stale data.

6.2 Brokerage and bank connections (read-only)

Vantid offers optional, read-only connections to supported brokerages and financial institutions, including direct integrations with Interactive Brokers, E*TRADE, and Zerodha Kite, and aggregated connections through SnapTrade and Plaid. These integrations:

• Are read-only. We only import positions, transactions, and account balances. We cannot place orders, transfer funds, or modify your account.
• Are opt-in. Nothing connects until you initiate the link from inside the app.
• Authenticate through the broker's or aggregator's own login flow. We never receive your bank or brokerage username and password.
• Can be disconnected at any time from the app, which revokes Vantid's access token at the provider.

Use of SnapTrade, Plaid, and direct broker APIs is subject to those providers' own terms and policies. Imported data may lag behind your broker's official records and should not be used for tax filing or trading decisions without independent verification.

6.3 Sync, AI, analytics, and other integrations

Other optional integrations — encrypted sync, Google Drive backup, Model Context Protocol (MCP) exposure to external AI assistants, built-in AI features, and product analytics through PostHog — involve third-party services governed by those services' terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for them. The data we send to each is described in our Privacy Policy.

7. AI features

The app includes AI features (built-in chat and MCP exposure to external assistants). When you use them:

• AI outputs can be wrong, incomplete, or misleading. Verify before acting.
• The built-in chat sends portions of your portfolio data to the AI provider configured in your settings. That provider has its own privacy policy and data handling.
• MCP exposes your portfolio data to AI tools you connect (Claude Desktop, Cursor, etc.). Once exposed, what those tools do with the data is governed by their providers, not us.

8. Intellectual property

We retain all rights, title, and interest in the Vantid app, brand, documentation, and source code (except components licensed under open-source licenses, which retain their original terms). Nothing in these Terms transfers any IP to you beyond the license in §2.

If you send us feedback or suggestions, you grant us a perpetual, royalty-free license to use them. We may build them into the product without owing you anything; we're also not obligated to.

9. Termination

You can stop using Vantid at any time by uninstalling it. If you opted into sync, email privacy@vantid.money to fully delete server-side data. If you connected a brokerage or bank, disconnect it from inside the app to revoke our read-only access token at the provider.

We can suspend or terminate your use of the service-side components (sync, email, market-data proxy) if you violate these Terms, if we're required to by law, or if we shut the service down. Your locally installed app continues to work for what local data supports.

We'll give reasonable advance notice before shutting any service down except in emergencies (security incidents, legal demands).

10. Disclaimers

The service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE." We disclaim, to the maximum extent permitted by law, all warranties — express, implied, or statutory — including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, non-infringement, and uninterrupted operation.

We don't warrant that the service will be error-free, that market data will be accurate, that AI outputs will be correct, or that data will never be lost.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or related to these Terms or your use of Vantid is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or (b) US$50.

We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages — including lost profits, lost data, or loss of investment value — even if we've been told they were possible.

Some jurisdictions don't allow these limitations. In those places, our liability is limited to the smallest amount the law permits.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising out of (a) your violation of these Terms, (b) your misuse of the service, or (c) your violation of any third-party right (including IP and privacy rights).

13. Changes to these Terms

We'll post material changes to this page and update the "Last Updated" date. If a change materially affects your rights, we'll notify you at least 30 days before it takes effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

14. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

Any dispute arising out of or related to these Terms shall be resolved exclusively in the courts located in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India, and you consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of those courts.

15. Miscellaneous

• Entire agreement. These Terms, plus the Privacy Policy, are the complete agreement between you and us.
• Severability. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest stays in force.
• No waiver. Our failure to enforce a right isn't a waiver of it.
• Assignment. You can't assign these Terms; we can, in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale.
• No third-party beneficiaries.
• Force majeure. We're not liable for delays caused by events beyond our reasonable control.
